Upper Mars and the Plain of Mars
Mars, the Roman god of military strategy was passionately worshipped by the legions of Roman warriors who conquered much of the known world of their time. He was highly strategic and able to motivate thousands with his charismatic passion.
The Mars Mounts are divided into two separate and distinct features on the palm:
The Passive (Upper) Mount appears near the outer margin of the palm below the Mars Mount and between the Heart Line and the Head Line.
The well-developed Passive Mars character performs extremely well under pressure and is little swayed from their goals by challenges that might be encountered along the way.
An under-developed Mars Mount reflects a timid individual who is easily put off the goal by the slightest of difficulty. They are easily manipulated and as intimidated by success as they are by failure. They strive to maintain the status quo and rarely rock the boat.
An over developed Mount reflects a personality that reverts to sarcasm and mockery to deflect criticism and challenge. They are tenacious and courageous and will argue their position to the miserable end.
The Active (Lower) Mount, also known as the Plain of Mars, is situated on the inner margin of the palm above the Venus Mount.
A well-developed Active Mars Mount indicates an individual with substantial drive who thrives on challenge. They are confident and assertive and know the limits of their authority.
An under-developed Lower Mount reflects timidity and low self-confidence. They have a low threshold for pain and are so intolerable of suffering that even the smallest challenge becomes a threat.
An over developed Lower Mount of Mars is the mark of the bully who throws their weight around in an effort to gain the upper hands. They are prone to aggressiveness and may be prone to violent outbursts.
