The Mount of Jupiter

palm reading mount of jupiterJupiter is the highest deity in Roman mythology (Zeus is his counterpart in Greek mythology) where he is revered as the god of the sky and thunder.  He was also considered to be the harbinger of cosmic justice and Romans pleading before the courts would invoke his name (“By Jove!”).

Think of the qualities that in your mind represent the character of a leader.  And not just any leader, but the head of one of the most powerful, innovative and wealthy societies that history ever produced.  These are the character qualities that are defined and clarified in the Mount of Jupiter.

The index finger, Jupiter, is aptly named as it is the finger that one typically uses to gesture and direct the attentions of others.  It is, therefore, the power finger.  Situated just below the index finger, the Mount of Jupiter defines leadership ability, the seeker’s attitude toward others and their love of pomp and circumstance.

Examine the Jupiter Mount.  Is it well developed and in balance with the size and appearance of the other Mounts of the palm?  If so, here is a noble individual with a friendly confidence that is an immediate attractant to admirers.  A party is not just a party … it’s an overwhelming celebration planned to down to the tiniest of details.

Contrarily, if the Jupiter Mount is undersized the seeker is likely lacking in confidence and somewhat selfish and prone to laziness.  They think little of others because they really don’t see any value in it for themselves.

But what of the Mount that is formidably pronounced?  Most likely this individual is so self-absorbed he or she has little energy to put into caring for others … unless there’s something in it to serve his or her own personal ambitions.  This haughty individual does not understand the subtleties of motivating others to greatness, but barks out orders in an effort to remind everyone who’s in charge.

Look to Jupiter’s relationship to the Saturn Mount, which is situated under the middle finger.  Do the two blend together with little or no differentiation?  If so, this individual works better with others than they do on their own.
