The Heart Line
The path of the Heart Line traverses a curve near the mounts at the base of the fingers beginning under or near the mount of Jupiter (under the index finger) to the outer edge of the palm. Some readers will read this line in the opposite direction with equal accuracy.
The Heart Line indicates the physiological health of the heart itself and can indicate potential threats such as heart disease. The spiritual interpretation of the heart line reflects the path of love and relationships for the seeker.
When considering the Heart Line in the passive hand the reader gains insight into how the seeker feels about him or herself. The dominant hand is generally agreed to reflect the seeker’s relationships with others.
Emotionally driven individuals tend to have very long, deep Heart Lines, especially when taken in comparison to the Head Line. These individuals make decisions based on how they feel about the people, places and things involved rather than relying upon logic.
If the line is situated near the base of the fingers, especially if it is deeply engrained, it indicates an individual that is prone to jealousy and possessiveness. Conversely, a softly curved line that runs beneath the mounts reflects a kind, sensitive nature and conscientiousness of the needs of others.
Individuals who put their own interests above all others generally have a straight line that runs across the top of the palm. These people are also prone to secretiveness and suspicion.
Flirty, playful individuals have a broken line and a line with numerous branches reveals the gregarious extroverted nature of the seeker.
Branches from the Heart Line indicate a more gregarious, experimentative nature. If a south pointing branch connects with the Life Line, the seeker has a very sensitive nature and is easily hurt in matters of the heart.
The Heart Line might not traverse the span between the margin of the fingers and the outer margin of the hand, but this is only considered important if the line is particularly short. This is generally interpreted to mean that the seeker will have trouble in romantic relationships. Likewise, an indistinct line warns of very unsettled emotions. In this case the reader will likely consider the Head Line and Life Line to determine whether a suggestion that the seeker consider the aid of a psychologist to restore balance to their life.
When possible the reader may wish to compare the Heart Line of the seeker with that of their partner. If they are similar they indicate a like-mindedness in relation to emotional matters.
