Career & Vocation readings
Learning to read the palm accurately takes years of devoted study and practice, but even the enthusiastic amateur can learn a few basics to help themselves and others settle on a suitable career or vacation. As with reading lines and mounts of the hands, even these indicators can be interpreted in more than one fashion depending upon the focus of the reading, but in the case of the vocational reading, their meanings can generally be assigned with confidence:
Long Index (Jupiter) Finger: Indicates the potential for leadership and the ability to easily devise strategies to achieve complex goals. The index finger is longer that the ring finger and may challenge the middle finger as the longest digit. The longer the finger, the stronger the personality trait.
Long Ring (Apollo) Finger: As with the above description, the ring finger competes with the middle finger for dominance. A dominant ring finger reflects a risk-taker.
Line variations: Lines such as the Head Line, Fate Line and Life Line are important to consider for impediments or breaks that may indicate that major changes will occur at some point in one’s professional career:
- Breaks: An overlapping break reflects a change in the energy of the line on which the break occurs. A complete break indicates that the seeker will experience a complete break in the energy of the line on which the break occurs.
- Cross bar: Indicates a temporary impediment relating to the line on which it exists. When this appears on the Fate Line, it indicates a change in career is in order.
- Feathering or Cross-hatching: Changeable energy that might indicate dispersion of energy in the properties of the line in which the feathering manifests.
- Islands: These may be solitary or appear in a chain. Both indicate a reduction in the energy of the line, but in the case of the chain the reduction may persist for a long period of time.
Shapes: An “N” on the Jupiter Mount (beneath the index finger) indicates success in business. Triangles projecting from the lifeline intimate a ready influx of capital, but if they appear at the juncture of the Head Line and Fate Line financial struggles are a likelihood. A free-floating triangle in the lower outer quadrant of the palm is the mark of a hero, and those bearing this sign are well suited to careers in public service and medicine. |
